Everything you need to get the most out of RatedRight.

Getting Started
Installation
- Visit the Shopify App Store and search for "RatedRight"
- Click Install and authorize the app for your store
- You'll be redirected to the RatedRight dashboard to complete setup
Initial Setup
After installation, configure these essential settings:
- Store Settings - Set your store name and sender email for review requests
- Branding - Customize colors to match your store's look
- Email Templates - Personalize your review request emails
- Widget Placement - Enable theme app blocks (see Widgets section)
Adding Widgets to Your Theme
RatedRight uses Shopify's Theme App Blocks for easy widget installation:
- In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes
- Click Customize on your active theme
- Navigate to a product page template
- Click Add block and find RatedRight widgets under "Apps"
- Add the Product Reviews block where you want reviews to appear
- Optionally add Star Badge to collection pages for rating summaries

Product Reviews Widget
The main reviews widget displays all reviews for a product. Features include:
- Star ratings with overall average display
- Photo/video reviews with lightbox viewer
- Helpful votes so customers can upvote useful reviews
- Filtering by rating, photos, or verified purchase
- Sorting by newest, highest rated, or most helpful
Star Badge
Show product ratings on collection pages and product cards:
- Displays average star rating and review count
- Automatically updates as new reviews come in
- Customizable size and colors
Story-Style Viewer
An Instagram-style viewer for photo and video reviews:
- Full-screen immersive experience
- Swipe navigation on mobile
- Auto-advances through reviews
Widget Customization
All widgets can be customized in Settings > Widgets:
- Colors - Match your brand's primary and accent colors
- Layout - Grid or list view for reviews
- Display options - Show/hide specific elements like dates, verified badges
Review Collection
Automatic Email Requests
RatedRight automatically sends review request emails after orders are fulfilled:
- Go to Requests in the dashboard
- Enable Automatic Requests
- Set the delay (e.g., 7 days after fulfillment)
- Customize your email template
Email Template Customization
Personalize your review request emails:
- Subject line - Use variables like {customer_name} and {product_name}
- Email body - Customize the message and tone
- Branding - Add your logo and brand colors
- Incentives - Optionally mention discounts for leaving reviews
Manual Requests
Send review requests for specific orders:
- Go to Requests
- Find the order using the search or filters
- Click Send Request
Review Form
Customers submit reviews through a branded form with:
- Star rating (1-5 stars)
- Title and detailed feedback
- Photo and video uploads
- Optional questions (e.g., size, quality)
AI Features
Sentiment Analysis
RatedRight automatically analyzes the sentiment of each review:
- Positive - Happy customers praising your products
- Neutral - Mixed or factual reviews
- Negative - Concerns that need attention
Use sentiment filters to quickly find reviews that need responses.
AI Summaries
Automatic summaries help customers quickly understand product feedback:
- Generated from all reviews for a product
- Highlights key themes (quality, shipping, value)
- Updates automatically as new reviews come in
Smart Reply Suggestions
Get AI-powered suggestions when responding to reviews:
- Open a review and click Reply
- Click Suggest Reply for AI recommendations
- Edit the suggestion or use it as-is
- Post your response
Smart replies consider the review content and sentiment to craft appropriate responses.
Integrations
Google Shopping
Sync your reviews to Google Merchant Center for rich results:
- Go to Integrations > Google Shopping
- Connect your Google Merchant Center account
- Enable review syndication
- Reviews will appear in Google Shopping results within 2-4 weeks
Klaviyo
Send review events to Klaviyo for advanced email flows:
- Go to Integrations > Klaviyo
- Enter your Klaviyo API key
- Enable event tracking
Events sent to Klaviyo include:
- Review Submitted - When a customer leaves a review
- Review Published - When a review goes live
Import Reviews
Migrating from another app? Import your existing reviews:
- Export reviews from your current app as CSV
- Go to Settings > Import
- Upload your CSV file
- Map the columns to RatedRight fields
- Complete the import
We support imports from Judge.me, Loox, Stamped, and generic CSV formats.
